1984 E30 Idle Problem
 

I have a 1984 BMW e30, 4 cylinder automatic. Just bought the car. Idle stays in the 1200-1500 range. Checked all vacuum hoses,good changed out Vac Control module, cleaned Idle Control unit and no change. Interesting when I pull out dipstick the idle settles to normal 900. When I bought the car the Vacuum Control module on the firewal had been bypassed. I reconnected the vac lines and still no change. Any ideas?
