Attaching fuel and brake lines to body
![]() As bad luck would have it my '90 325ic that I have been working on for now over a year, sprang a leak in the main rear brake line on Sunday. I'll now have to remove the axle carrier (thanks to those who have posted on that here in this forum) but am not looking forward to it. My car sat for years and rusted in various places including the brackets that fix the fuel lines and brake line to the body. I have included a photo (not recent). It is certain that when I try to unscrew the brackets to free the lines, the screws will crumble. One already has. This means I will have to replace the hardware to fix the lines to the body. RealOEM.com * BMW E30 325i Fuel pipe and mounting parts Trying to source a complete set of new hardware, I found that the bushing into which the screw attaches is no longer available (part #41121877025). I ask if anybody here on this forum has dealt with this problem--replacing the attaching brackets for fuel and brake line--and how they did it. |

It is not 100% certainty that your screws/bolts will disintegrate, but there is a good chance of it happening based on your pictures.
