cylinder 4 failure
Hi, can any one please help?
I have a 2003 330i E46, which have a combustion failure on the 4th cylinder. I have changed the plugs, 3 x coils and had the injector checked. It slightly sprays to the one side, same as a sample. The symptoms: When driving, it seems to be fine. Fuel consumption very good. On idling, it has a slight misfire. When stopping at the robot, and have it idling for about a minute, the 4th cylinder dies. If you then switch the engine off, and restart, its 'fine' again. 4th cylinder misfiring, but seems to work. As soon as the engine reaches about 2000 rpm, it seems to be Okay. (I listened to the injector with a stethoscope, and it seems like the pulse dies? I checked the DME for any dry joints, but it looks very good. I now want to put an Oscilloscope on the injector lines, to check the pulse. Does anyone has an idea of what it might be? Thanks so mush. Francois. |
