Temperature sending unit
 

Good day to all,

This might sound like a dumb question but I always figured it's best to ask questions than to assume. I want to change my temperature sending unit in hopes that my temperature gauge will start working. (I bought a new instrument cluster and the temp gauge is not working) I was wondering when i replace my temp sending unit do I simply unplug and remove and replace? or are there things I have to keep in mind? Also I figure that I should change the coolant temp sensor while i'm at it. but will coolant spew out once I remove it? Thank you for your time and help.
