Question 325IC electric problem

Hi, I have a 325I cabrio and two days ago the brake lites, the horn, the wipers and the turn signals all stopped working at the same time. Two hours later they all came back on. Thirty minutes later they quit working again, and have been out for the last two days. I have checked everything that I can think of,from loose wires to blown fuses. Everything looks OK. Does anyone have any advise?

Maybe alternator? Do they work while your car is off using battery only?

No. Nothing works with or without engine running. Backup lites work, the onboard computer works from the turn signal arm, radio and heater work.

You would greatly benefit from either a Bentley manual or some other source of schematics and wiring diagrams.

I did a voltage check on the fuses the owners manual said were related and found a voltage of only 2 volts on all 4 fuses. With the meter on fuse #4 I pulled #5 , no change pulled #6 still no change, pulled #7 and the voltage came up to 12 volts. Put the #7 fuse back in and the voltage dropped to 2 volts.Pulled it out and the voltage on #4,#5, and #6 all reads 12 volts and all systems work.
Fuse #4 --turn signal,#5 --wipers, #6 --brake lites, #7--horn. I will remove horn button and check button and wiring for problems. Thanks to all.
