e30 starter sticking on cold start

Hi Everyone- I have an '84 325e, manual transmission with 175k.

On a cold start, my starter sounds like it is still engaging for a few seconds too long, after I release the key. Could the electrical contacts inside my starter be corroded?

Thanks,
Danny

I believed starter on your car is one unit. Sounds like your start solenoid sticking. needs new starter. While you are changing out your starter make sure you check your flywheel teeth there is no damage tooth or broken.
