SULEV Conversion. Can E56 be converted to E46?
 

2004 BMW 325Ci. My buddy just introduced us both to the SULEV nightmare by buying what he thought was going to be a steal in a nice used coupe. When we got it to his house to diagnose why it would not start, we found a dead fuel pump. No big deal UNLESS...it is one of BMW's frankenchildren known as "SULEV"...which...it was!
We are interested in converting the fuel tank and fuel pump to be the components out of the E46. Does anyone have experience with this?
Thanks to all for sharing any thoughts or insight into this probelm. PS: We know there are used systems out there for as 'little' as $500.00 but feel the conversion...if possible...is a better choice. All thoughts welcome!
