Outside Air Temperature Sensor Location

I have a 1998 M3 and the Outside Air Temperature sensor is reading -35. I have purchased a new sensor but I cannot find the sensor in the car. The book says right rear engine box in fresh air cowl.??? I am stumped. I guess I am not really sure where the fresh air cowl is.
