E36 stereo in the E30?
Does anybody have any info if the stock E36 stereo head unit will retro fit into the E30? I installed a Nakamichi in the E36 and want to replace the old E30 unit. The volume control in the old one seems to be acting up.

If the harnesses are the same on the back of both factory radios, it should work.. I work at a stereo shop but we are closed today so I cannot look into my book that tells me what years certain harnesses were made etc. I will look when I get back to work on Friday....

Wizard,
It's getting close to crunch time and I'm trying to decide if I should go and get an aftermarket stereo or get a used unit. The volume control is getting worse. Any suggestions? Ike

I still have my head unit from my 87 325i and it works fine. I just updated the stereo two weeks ago and still have it in the garage. Its yours if you want it. let me know and give me an address jeff |
