Hi.i have a 1999 e46 323i. Sporadically at w.o.t. car feels like on 5 or 4 cylinders. No misfire. No engine chk light. At restarting car runs normal. Changed plugs, filters, cleaned mas and throttle body. Car feels lagging below 2000 rpm. At 3000 power surge. The power loss is sporadic.

Could be an issue with the fuel pump. I would perform a fuel delivery system test. Check fuel pressure, volume and quality.
