oiley cars
The best advice I ever got was that "these cars like to be oiley" so I regularly spray WD or just a little ATF mixed w. diesel around the engine compartment. Many older cars I have seen will have corrosion on both electrical and alloy parts - not me.
Also I have found that manic attention to the valves and fuel filters pays off. I got rid of the (stupid) viscus fan so I could more easily position the cam with a big socket while adjusting the valves. Today the '87 is up on the stands to get a new clutch hose and bleed the whole system. The slave cyl. is a bit tricky to bleed, but I,m getting the hang of "bench bleeding". This is my first post and I hope to sell some parts here in the future, no one would believe how much BMW stuff I have collected. I still have the motors from my 71 '02 and my'77 e21. Long live the m10 mustang killers. |
