I have a 1992 325i with a cel code 1264. It starts just fine but after running/driving for 5-10 mins and coming to a stop the revs begin to fluctuate and it wants to stall unless I start to accelerate. Even when I accelerate it tends to be very sluggish and back fires.

Sounds like a lean condition. Check fuel pressures and most importantly check the intake boot AND intake system for leaks, including the PCV system.
