Hi...I have a '98 328is with seat issues. The back of the passenger seat will will not move either way i.e. will not recline or raise up. I do not hear the motor running when switch is activated.
The driver's seat back will recline, but will not come back up. When trying to bring the seat back up, I do not hear the motor running when switch is activated. Not sure where to start. Switch problem for passenger seat? Fuse? Motor? Same with driver's...assume not motor, switch or fuse, since it will recline. If either of these are gear issues, I assume I would hear the motor running when switches are activated. Correct? Thanks in advance for your help. __________________ This post was auto-generated based upon a question asked on our tech article page here: BMW E36 3-Series Power Seat Repair (1992 - 1999) | Pelican Parts DIY Maintenance Article |

Best bet is to grab a repair manual and begin verifying the switch outputs are coming out of the switch.
