hi. i was getting code p0340. cam position sensor wiring fault. i have checked the wiring and all is good.
i bought a new intake side cam sensor from our bmw store the box said vdo..my old sensor stepped down from big to small..and the new one is just a wide as the hole. but im still getting fault code p0340..even after resetting.
sometimes the car takes longer to start..and sometimes it fires right up even when cold..but when it takes long to start the fault code comes back

Best bet is to test the signal at the DME. Confirm it is getting there.
