O'Hare has always been a SH**Y body shop. I hope you have a signed work order, with the repairs you requested, clearly written out. If it was verbal, be prepared to spend $$$ on a lawyer.

The SA advising you to call the police is a way to get you off the phone. The police usually won't file a theft report, considering you willingly gave them the car to work on. If the SA wants you to come in and sign a complaint, DO IT. Don't count on the Bensenville detective's doing too much.

https://birkholz.com/ Has done excellent work on numerous friends high line cars.

https://dmcorvette.com/ Is also an excellent choice. They work on other vehicles, in addition to Corvettes.

The first thing you need to do, is get your car back. You don't want to find it sitting outside with the windows open, and parts missing.

The on staff GM was playing good cop/bad cop with the owner, and you. They want the 13k, and will use every angle to get it.

Get all of your documentation together. I don't know of a lawyer that deals with this type of case, I know of one who can recommend someone. You want this case in DuPage county, due to the jury pool. IMHO, but the right lawyer may want it in Cook County, depending where you live. If you live in Lake, that may be better. It shouldn't be hard to find out who O'Hare uses for their lawyer. They definitely have one.

Do not say anything to O'Hare about a lawyer. Blindside them, and their lawyer. Even if you have to pay the 13k to get your car back.

Good luck. Let us know how it goes.
