I got poison ivy a year ago last november after raking leaves. I was scratching AND shoveling snow. And it gets hot here too, and humid, but only from Jun through Sept. However, I'd rather sweat that have my fingers feel like they've been hit with a hammer after working outside.

And 'life' is longer where it's nicer. There's no way my 911 is going anywhere today or next week or next month. The streets are coated in brine and salt and it's in the 20s.

Your glass man is right.
(I'd be curious to know what kind of hit he took in pay, and what kind of savings he got in an apples to apples housing and tax and expense comparison. I strongly suspect he makes less, and spends a LOT less.)
