* 1969 Cadillac Sedan de Ville -- Gift from grandparents, 1st car.

* 1979 Ford Mustang 5.0 -- First year of 5.0 in Fox platform. You could wear out the Michelin TRX tires in just 5K miles. Front end heavy but fun, no wonder the 5.0 GTs became so popular.

* 1978 VW Scirocco -- First import for me, bought used. Gave to my sister who drove it to 150K. Great car -- reliable, great looking, wonderful handling, super smooth engine.

* 1980 Ford Fiesta S -- Too much motor for the chassis, 12" wheels. Kept it 2 years and got what I paid for it.

* 1978 Datsun 280Z -- This was a 1 owner mint car. Consumed huge amounts of oil even after a valve job. Great looking but drove like a truck. Kept it 2 years and got what I paid for it.

* 1986 Audi 5000 5-speed -- I was intrigued by the value proposition -- luxury sedan, 4 years old, for only $7,500. Very disappointing to drive. Kept it 1 year, got what I paid for it.

* 1991 Sentra SE-R -- Good looking, light, extremely well balanced chassis, smooth torquey engine, great seats and shifter, need I say more?

* 1986 Porsche Carrera Coupe -- Bought from an older IBM engineer in Central Calif. Took over a year to find a Coupe without spoilers and in original condition. I've put 20K mile on it in 3 years that I've owned it. A bullet proof tank that is fun to drive.

* 1969 Mercedes 280SL 4-speed -- I always like these and have had my eye out for a Calif. original car. Found one 2 years ago and did a partial restoration on it. I think these are under valued. Extremely solid cars, very smooth on the open road.

* 1970 Porsche 914-6 -- A friend liked the restoration I did on the SL and told me of a 914-6 he had in storage. I bought it and am restoring now.

Favorites were Scirocco, SE-R, 911, 280SL and 914-6.
