If you're just looking for more airflow, and aesthetics aren't crirtical (i.e., form follows function), it's tough to beat the "Swiss cheese" treatment for your stock cover. I have (12) small and (2) large holes drilled about the cover, the stock snorkel whacked off flush and a like-sized hole on the other side. The standard straps still hold in on, the K & N gets lots of air and it sounds great.

Two downsides--absolutely no rain (or snow...hey, I remember that stuff!) protection and not especially pretty. But it works, and I keep a stock cover for rainy days.
