Hello, new member/poster here. We have a Z3 in the shop, early 1998 so no updates to the engine from later 98. It is overheating but both radiator hoses are cool to the touch....nothing over 90F with a infrared reader and no flow to heater. Have verified lines to radiator and heater are clear/not plugged by using air. First I removed the internals of the thermostat and ran the car. No change. I pulled the water pump even thought the owner said it was new and I can see a new water pump was installed and , has a metal vane style rotor. Vented the system 3 times between the tow tests and even raised the front end of the car. Bleeder valve open each time.

Any suggesstions/questions.

It would seem the hoses should be warmer than 90 degrees. At least 180 and higher. Wonder why the new pump and when was that done? Is the new pump good??
