Don't bounce on the red line, but at least go to 6,000 regularly. The engine is made for it. They were designed to run at redline for 24 hours straight.
Thanks Glenn. I have never been one to baby my cars, I'm only trying to be cautious as she's new to me and we are going to be a long way from home. That having been said knowing myself, I'm guessing that a few hours into the drive I'll feel comfortable and confident in running her through her paces. The guy who did the PPI and a few minor repairs before we are heading up to get it drove to and from his shop 45 + miles each way and said he gave it a good workout and it's a great running 911.
