thru-body sway bar mounts on A-arms

Just dismantled an 84 front suspension this afternoon in prep for a track rebuild set-up. This will all be bolted up to an early car, or maybe an SC with a front sheetmetal back-date.

Can/should I cut off the orginal hoop mounts on the A-arms, especially in prep for welding on a U-bracket prior to painting/powdercoating light grey?

A few things learned:
1. A Dremel tool, hammer and chisel are great for removing ball joints
2. A torch is great for removing A-arm bushings
3. Very, very thoroughly cleaning your hubs prior to baking for race removal is a really, really good idea.
