There are two coolers, one on the motor just near the passenger's side rear tire and there is a thermostat very near to that which is only accessible via an engine drop, and then the other external cooler which is fed by the (you guessed right) thermostat just ahead of that same rear tire. If the engine is staying as cool as the gauge says, then yes, I would expect the lines on the engine side to be hot/warm and the lines going to the front to not be hot/warm, but unless it is just a function of the weather you have (here in Houston I have driven in weather in the 30's, but not often, but I think my temp does get to around 200) I am expecting all of the lines to be hot and your gauge to be reading incorrectly.
