I've had both E and S cars. Other than the mystique, the real difference is mainly when driving very aggressivley. Having said that, that is also the main reason folks want an S. Many E's are very similarly spec's out, and except for the hydro front suspension (most are gone) had same brakes etc. For day to day driving, I love my E. I readily admit, I bought it after unsuccessfully searching for an affordable E. You can get a great car in great shape for what you would pay for a tired S. Still, it ain't an S, but again, love my E and it gives me a clear conscience to make minor mods.
