It's usually the solder joints that hold the relays that eventually crack and cause a cold joint- from all the stress of the relays mounted horizontally on the circuit board. The relays are heavy and vibration eventually causes the poor quality joints to crack. The cracks are hard to see, but you can resolder them to see if it fixes your problems.
