TomJ, my experiences locally have been similar.

As co-founder of a PCA region in Washington, and later member of Golden Gate Region -- probably one of the best from a competition standpoint in the mid/late 70s, I came to L.A. with some hopes.

But I too, quit PCA after observing that L.A. PCA was about 6 people trying to push 100 people out of their indifference. For a while, Grand Prix Region was the answer, but now they've gone the same way: no newsletter, monthly breakfast meetings, a couple of drives and a concours.

Since my first outing with POC 6-7 years ago was a disastrously mismanaged event (I've been told that was a fluke), I joined TCRA and have been happy to race alongside both Porsches & non-Porsches.

I think both POC and the advent of the Internet have made the local PCA regions irrelevant.
