find your starter relay. Remove it. Make sure the car is out of gear. run a wire form the batter and touch it to the pin that feeds the starter power.

If it turns over your problem lies in your ignition.
If you hear a click but doesnt turn over your problem lies in the starter armature.
If you dont hear a click your problem lies in the starter solenoid

I wired in a push button start in this manner in my previous car that had a bad nuetral safety switch. I am currently doing this to my 944. It's going right where the cigarrette lighter is. It just seemed like a cool place to put one. I will be using the cig ligeter as the button of course. It might seem ricey, but it's nice not to have to push the clutch in all the time to start your car, especially when it's cold and you are shivering in your leather seats. you do still need the key turned forward, but that can be bipassed.
