Some dynamat in the doors and better speakers improved the sound quality in mine no end, but intend to fit more expensive ones later. Anyway just wondered if I put a smallish sub in the back against the rear seats (mdf triangular box boot width)......I want to put the amp behind perspex (lit) will this need a cooling fan or will movement of air from the bass ports be enough?

Depends on how large an amp. If you're just pushing a couple hundred watts then not really.
