Sherman, you're correct. All the 3.0 heads had same valves. As far as machining the smaller ones, while researching I came across some posts that claim if you bore the ports, you may end up w/ a smaller sealing surface area. Not sure whether it's absolutely going to happen, but it makes sense that it *may*.

In a similar manner, does anyone know the specs for ports on a Carrera 3.2 head? Valves? While looking for this I came across this chart, unfortunately the last line w/ 3.2 heads seems to be a typo:
