for a 3.0 motor, then I can't see any reason why you would want a carrera case over an SC case. The SC case uses a different flywheel and the flywheel end of the crankshaft/case is different than the carrera cases. The carrera cases are great for making a 2.8L motor (66x95) since they can use the 2.0-2.7 cranks but the SC cases can't.

The spigot size and stud spacing is exactly the same as an SC case.

For adapting MFI to a 3.0 the only thing that you would need is the MFI takeoff on the 1,2,3 cam, and drill and tap the heads for the injectors. The rest is external, so both an SC motor and a 3.0 carrera motor will suffice as a starting point
