Yeah, thats BS.

If you are going to use a single sensor, the best place would be on the top of the case, under the cooling shroud. Locating it near the center of the crank should allow it to hear knock from any of the cylinders pretty well.

Right now I am concidering whether I will connect mine using one of the case perimeter bolts or whether I will machine the case for a good mounting point on one of the case main bearing webs.
