Why wouldn't you just use Mahle 98's specifically manufactured for the early 3.0L Turbo? They use the exact same cylinder as the 3.0L>3.2L normally aspirated conversion, the piston is of course different (as well as the wrist pins and rings).

Andial carries them (or used to at least), their part number is AND 103 958 58 and the rated CR is 7.0:1.

Cylinder heights are 85.6mm with a 22mm x 61mm wrist pin. Rings are 1.5/1.5/3.0. No case machining required and a simple chamfer on the heads to match the larger bore is all that is required.

Not affiliated with Andial (any more!) but you can reach Pete Sanchez in parts at 714.957.3900 to see if they have a set in stock and...gulp...how much.
