This is the main reason i switched to the permitex anerobic gasket maker. like i stated in earlier posts it has worked great for everything i have used it on

they even have a spary that is used to prep the surfaces to be sealed. I have used it both ways with and without.

it seams as long as your surface is clean and free of oil and other crap it works great.
Yeah, I call it Loctite 518 but like you said, it comes in a Permatex package now.

On the back it reads: Manufactured by Loctite Corporation
And you're right, it does work great. I just use ThreeBond instead these days.

P.S. Anyone know if the Audi transmission sealant is repackaged 3Bond 1211? Sure looks like it.
