Drill sheet metal for crank pulley bolt access?

I'm putting the sheet metal on the engine and I'm wondering if people drill the pulley cover and rear sheet metal to allow for socket access to turn the crank? I realize that the muffler will probably be in the way when it's all together, but it seems like access to the pulley bolt would be a plus. Comments?
