Those burns look like they came from a drop light using an incondesant bulb and a metal cage on it.
I know at the shop where I work if we make a mistake the company coveres it. I also work at a shop where if we (the wrenches) make a mistake we tell the boss and it is usually fixed before the customer gets back in the car.
The shop should fix your car if in fact they did the damage or at least split the cost.
