In 1970-77 port size varied but all the valves in production 2.2 -2.7 were the same.
Intake= 46mm
Exhaust=40mm
E piston are cast not forged but I like the compression ratio of the E better than S considering fuel availability.
With carbs I like Solex cams. They were designed from a clean sheet of paper as the only cam available so it is a great all around cam for carbs. E cams were designed to run with MFI. $300 good used
I would run 32 mm venturis. Small enough for good low end and yet still flow enough air to run at top end.
