Porsche use nylocs on 3.6 engines too, so do many manufacturers.
I've yet to see melted ones on engines, whether street or race, unless installed on the exhaust.
Metalocs are more temperature resistant. And probably cheaper to manufacture. Which probably explains why 996 engines are bolted together..barely any nylocs or metalocs either.
