Yes.
The starter weighs 15#, the trans weighs 101# (dry) and the complete engine with clutch and flywheel weigh 391#
If you subtract 25# for the heavy stock muffler, and 25# for the clutch/flywheel, that's a 341# complete 911 engine!
I wonder what a VW type-IV motor weighs. Probably not much less.
