Back pressure after the turbo is unproductive and should be minimized to improve efficiency. Having said that, running a straight pipe after the turbo would be a track only modification IMO.
The turbo will muffle the exhaust note a little bit but is not a replacement for a proper muffler.
Your neighbors will thank you as well as the local law enforcment employees.
