No oil pressure ! share the cure

I am building a 2056 with parts from Jake Rabe for my 912E. The engine is on my engine stand now and I crank it over on the starter to build oil pressure prior to start-up. I have a direct reading guage and have performed this exercise a dozen or more times. I have never spent more time assembling an engine than I have this one and cranked and cranked pressure . Couldn't sleep last night trying to think how this could happen. NOW THE FIX! I called my son, Blake, on the way home tonight and he said that sometimes they have new engines on the dyno and can't get pressure. He suggested removing the oil filter ( which I filled completely with oil before installation) and let the oil run straight down into a pan while cranking. I did that, oil pumped out, replaced filter and now have 30PSI while cranking. I hope this helps someone if it ever happens to you ! Al
