Yes, they're tapered like the original design, just oillite bronze.
I've had severeal bearing folks tell me that tapered roller bearings in this particular usage is a misapplication of technology as the tapered roller bearing is designed for a continual rotating action with loading thru the 'roll center' of the bearing roller.
the swingarm moves only a small amount, the same wear surface is exposed to load with no rotation of the rollers into a new position, thus just a few rollers take the major brunt of a straight-thrust impact.
made sense to me.
