I've had severeal bearing folks tell me that tapered roller bearings in this particular usage is a misapplication of technology as the tapered roller bearing is designed for a continual rotating action with loading thru the 'roll center' of the bearing roller.
the swingarm moves only a small amount, the same wear surface is exposed to load with no rotation of the rollers into a new position, thus just a few rollers take the major brunt of a straight-thrust impact.
made sense to me.

Hmm need to add to the periodic maintenance, disassemble and rotate my pivot bearings every 3,000 miles...

Found THIS online, but am hesitant to try a substitute due to the catastrophic results if these bearings were to let go. Tends to muck up the rear of the bike from the pics I have seen online. would like to find out more about the "oilites" though Jony, is there a website???
