They're a Ultra High Performance Summer Tire using TireRack's jargon. Wear rating is only 140, so I expect no more than 20k miles out of them at the outside.
My car isn't a daily driver, so these are for those "Tail of the Dragon" or other driving weekends. I want predictable performance and a high degree of lateral traction. Hopefully, these will do it.
I'm keeping the 15's with mileage and comfort tires mounted, but my car is truly not particularly comfortable for a long range drive. No cruise control, rides hard, etc.
And, yes, it does suck that both Bridgestone and Yokohama dropped manufacture of the245/45/16 sizes in the same sort of tire. I ordered 225/50-16 rear and 205/55-16 front. Best I could do. Won't be long before we won't be able to buy those I'm afraid, the fact that the Honda S2000, in some model years, uses those sizes may have helped us.
