Wow. By the end of this thread, someone will claim that the R1200C cruiser breaks the sound barrier.

I never broke the sound barrier on an R12C, but I DID get radar'd by the NJ state police going 126 in a 55 on my old R12C with open pipes. Would backfire huge flames when I got off the throttle. Came around a bend on Rt. 80 at full stop, saw the cops helping a motorist on the side of the road and got off the throttle and BOOM - bike flames out the pipes. Took them a good 20 min to finally catch me. Bike got impounded, bad scene. Cops were pissed, etc. . . Plead it down to a $500 no fine, no points. Gotta love NJ.
Bike ran like crap, but when I put the straight pipes on it I did get more top end. Keep in mind, I was going slightly down hill in chilly late November.
I've got a problem not winding my bikes out at full throttle every time I'm on the HWY which is one the major reasons I drive an 1100GS now - NO Top End keeps me away from Johnny Law.
