Wow, 14 gph at 30 mph. That's awesome... I had no idea that 5.0's could be that fuel efficient. Last boat I had was a 38' Carver, looked alot like yours. (had twin 454's) Mine cruised at 12-15 knotts at about 20 gal per hour. Kick it in the ass (top speed around 20 knotts) and it helped itself to 40 gph.
It is now somebody's elses toy, and although I enjoyed it for a couple of years, I was really a happy man to see it go.
