I'm considering going EFI on my 79 reasonably stock 930 using a 3.2 Carrera intake. I am not really interested in chasing a lot of horsepower - maybe just 350 hp or so.
I notice that some guys doing these conversions don't use the stock 3.2 rails and they don't use the stock fuel pressure regulator. I'm assuming that's becuase they are looking at being able to supply much more fuel than the stock components can deliver as they push themselves to 400+ hp.
1. Can someone validate my thinking above?
2. What are the drawbacks of using the stock componments assuming I can get the right fittings to plug into the stock 3.3 fuel system?
