AFR who does domestic engines with ports left in "as is" condition from the CNC machine has done some tests and has found the texture left behind can be improved with hand porting but only slightly. BUT look at Air Flow Researches website and the quality of machining....it doesn't look like the photos in that link.

I'm still not completely turned off to them as they've been around for sometime and have been used on some serious race cars. BUT I'm sure more skepticle and will need to do more research before I write a check. I'm also looking into alternatives where before I felt this was MY obtainable Holy Grail. I'm not going to dig as deep as 9Meister though they are likely worth the money on the right project.......sadly not mine!
