Assuming STOCK fenders:

5.5x14 (came w/ some 914-6's)
7x15s fit in front fairly easy. May need to massage rear fender lips to fit.

6x16s also fit
7x16s likely fit in front, but may need massaging in the rear.

205 width tires tend to be popular. If you fit a 7" you might go to a 225 width tire, but be careful about rubbing.

Some folks run cookie cutters, others the Fuchs, Steelies, still others have run Phone Dials and I have seen some 16" Boxster wheels, but spacers/adaptors are needed due to the different offsets.

You will find Porsche wheels defined as "early offset" (typically 23 mm) and "late offset" which are closer to 50mm. On the 944 in 1987 and later and the 911 (with the 964) came the change to "late offset" wheels.

Hope this helps!
