Your recommended minimum shift points at 2500 RPM disagrees with Porsche's CASIS system, which indicates upshifting much earlier in the power band. That said, its much easier to upshift at 3000 rpm than 2000 rpm. But once that becomes routine, there's no ill effect to engine or drive train. In addition, conservation has a huge up-side.
