While the DRZ wasn't terribly comfortable on the highway, I did 50-mile freeway stretches at 70 mph+ without major issue. On the tight twisties, I was untouchable.
The GS is really a comfy road bike that's slightly better on gravel roads than a pure street bike. If that's your envelope, great bike.

Did you carry any camping gear or anything like that on the DRZ? I can pick up a DRZ reasonably cheap with low miles and I am thinking of going that way. Then I can keep the S no problem. After returning for a 400+ mile this weekend through the backroads of the Catskills I still love the S. So comfy, so fast.
