ebay is the best bet for selling lenses. At least the Nikkor lenses go for 85% of retail and sometimes more than retail just because of desirability. I'd think Canon is just as popular there.

You will be disappointed in what the camera stores will give you. Even a 100% lens will net you perhaps 50% in perfect 10 condition. You can play around at and get quotes if you register there.

If I was you I'd shell out the money for that Canon 10-22mm lens and not worry about the Tamron, Sigma, or the Tokina. Your incremental difference is really only $100 - $135 for 1st class.

In the Nikon world the alternative was the Nikkor 12-24 which goes for $900 or $870 on sale which makes the alternatives more desireable since there isn't that giant a cost benefit when it comes to image quality.

Johnnydanger can correct me if I'm wrong but I think the Canon lens is far superior than the alternatives. At least according to all the reviews I read.
